Material & Care

Jewellery is designed to be enjoyed and worn, but like all precious materials, it benefits from proper care. Understanding the materials in your jewellery can help preserve its appearance and longevity over time.

925 Sterling Silver

Our sterling silver pieces are crafted using 925 sterling silver, a precious metal composed of 92.5% silver and 7.5% additional metals that provide strength and durability.

Sterling silver is valued for its timeless appearance and versatility. Over time, silver may naturally develop a darker surface layer due to exposure to air, moisture, skincare products, and everyday environmental factors. This is a normal characteristic of silver and is not considered a manufacturing defect.

Caring for Sterling Silver

To help maintain the appearance of your silver jewellery:
  • Store pieces in a clean, dry place when not in use.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to water and humidity.
  • Apply perfumes, lotions, and cosmetics before putting on jewellery.
  • Remove jewellery before swimming, bathing, exercising, or household cleaning.
  • Clean gently using a soft jewellery polishing cloth when needed.
Zirconia

Some designs may feature zirconia, a carefully cut gemstone alternative valued for its brilliance and clarity.

Caring for Zirconia
  • Avoid impact against hard surfaces.
  • Clean gently using a soft cloth.
  • Store separately from harder jewellery pieces to help reduce surface scratches.
Pearls

Pearls are organic gemstones that require special attention compared to metals and traditional gemstones.

Natural characteristics such as slight variations in shape, texture, color, or surface appearance may occur and contribute to the individuality of each pearl.

Caring for Pearls
  • Avoid direct contact with perfumes, hairsprays, lotions, and cleaning products.
  • Put pearl jewellery on after completing your beauty routine.
  • Wipe gently with a soft cloth after wear.
  • Store separately from harder jewellery materials.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to excessive heat or direct sunlight.
Gold-Plated Sterling Silver

Some pieces may feature a layer of gold applied over sterling silver.

Gold plating naturally experiences wear over time depending on factors such as frequency of use, skin chemistry, environmental conditions, and care practices.

Caring for Gold-Plated Jewellery
  • Avoid water, perfumes, lotions, and chemicals whenever possible.
  • Remove before exercising, swimming, or showering.
  • Store separately to reduce friction and surface wear.
  • Clean only with a soft, dry cloth.
General Jewellery Care

To help preserve your jewellery:
  • Store pieces individually whenever possible.
  • Avoid sleeping while wearing jewellery.
  • Remove jewellery during activities that may expose it to impact or abrasion.
  • Avoid contact with harsh cleaning products and chemicals.
  • Handle delicate chains, pearls, and stone-set pieces with care.
Regular care and proper storage can help maintain the beauty of your jewellery for years to come.

A Note on Natural Wear

Jewellery is worn close to the skin and may naturally show signs of wear over time. Factors such as daily use, environmental exposure, personal care products, storage conditions, and individual skin chemistry can influence how materials age.

Changes resulting from normal wear, oxidation, surface marks, or environmental exposure are considered part of the natural lifecycle of jewellery and do not necessarily indicate a product defect.
